About this role:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of production or facility equipment by conducting preventive maintenance, responding to equipment failures, and assisting with equipment installation and improvement projects.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, control panels, sensors, and automation equipment such as PLCs, SCADA, and motor starters. Support mechanical tasks including equipment installation, inspection, and minor repairs like removing extruder screws for cleaning. Focus on systems such as feeders, mixers, emergency generators, and hydrant pumps.

Request quotations for repair work, coordinate procurement activities, and maintain adequate stock levels of parts and materials required for both routine operations and emergency repairs.

Participate in emergency repair work, including on-call duties, as well as scheduled plant shutdowns when required.

Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery, equipment and automation systems to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Calibrate and test field instruments, including pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, control valves, shut-off valves, and other related devices to ensure accurate and reliable performance.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities and calibration results in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with operations and engineering teams to enhance the reliability of electrical components and control systems, while supporting the development of new systems and equipment. Support the review of technical documentation, as well as the installation and commissioning of new equipment under improvement projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred), or equivalent technical experience.

Minimum Experience

(years and type):

1. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in RM/PM/PdM program and repairs, with strong hands-on capabilities being essential.

2. Experience in engineering, equipment installation, commissioning, and plant start-up is required. Direct involvement in project execution is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Technical Skills:

1. Familiar with twin-screw extrusion processes and related equipment; experience in chemical plants, pharmaceutical, or machinery industries is also considered.

2. Experience with electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, low and high voltage (LV/HV) systems, motor control centers (MCC), and automation systems such as PLCs and SCADA.

3. Basic English reading ability for understanding technical documents.

4. Able to read and interpret P&ID and PFD drawings.

5. Forklift and 3-ton hoist operation certifications are preferred.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

7. Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA systems is a plus.

2. Willing to troubleshoot critical equipment issues during off-duty hours when necessary.

3. Effective communication and organizational skills.

4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
