Overview (Scope of Role)

Trinseo has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Responsible Care Leader whose primary focus will be implementing and managing the EH&S Policies for Trinseo’s Bristol site as well as leading the EH&S Group. This position is located at the Bristol, PA.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate and conduct field assessments of environmental issues to meet organizational and government regulatory needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT, PA DEP).
  • Develop and manage site compliance plans, variances, and permitting strategies, including Title V and hazardous/solid waste programs.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify gaps and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement programs to prevent injuries, health impairment, and resolve environmental problems.
  • Lead EH&S/ES&S work processes and initiatives to achieve performance goals (zero injuries, zero LOPCs, and zero process safety events).
  • Analyze and evaluate site EH&S/ES&S performance to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Develop strategic EH&S/ES&S performance improvement plans and goals.
  • Implement site environmental strategy and process safety performance improvement activities.
  • Provide technical regulatory guidance and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies (USEPA, PA DEP, OSHA, DOT).
  • Coordinate EH&S capital projects and manage site-level compliance plans and variances.
  • Support LOPA/LPP gap closure and lead emergency response activities.
  • Key contributor in PHA revalidation process.
  • Ensure effective site implementation of quality management systems, training, and document management.
  • Provide people leadership for 1-2 direct reports and develop an effective implementation organization.
  • Maintain positive and respectful working relationships with all plant personnel.

Environmental Stewardship & Process Safety

  • Develop and implement environmental and sustainability strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Lead or support process safety improvement initiatives and assist in LOPA/LPP gap closure.
  • Manage EH&S-related capital projects and support TIMS (Trinseo Integrated  Management System) implementation

Community & Corporate Engagement

  • Represent the site in local outreach programs including the Bristol Community Advisory Committee Panels and LEPCs.
  • Participate in corporate EH&S initiatives and cross-functional improvement teams

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical preferred).
  • 10-15+ years of environmental, safety, and health experience, with a focus on health and safety.
  • 10-15+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CHMM, CIH, CPEA) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with external regulatory requirements and agencies at both federal and state levels.
  • Demonstrated influential leadership skills and ability to inspire others.
  • Experience in leading and/or coordinating emergency response activities.

Reporting Relationship(s)

  • This position reports to the Site Leader and is a member of the site management team.
