Overview

The Instrument and Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems across the facility. This role involves working with equipment ranging from 24 volts up to 13,000 volts, ensuring safe and reliable operation of all electrical and control systems.

Responsibilities

The Technologist will provide/use Instrument expertise to complete;

  • Maintain, repair and install instrument equipment for their area of responsibility.
  • Set up and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic variables.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and help document failure analysis.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating electrical components on DCS (ABB) control system.
  • Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Make recommendations & assist plant personnel to Reduce plant I/E maintenance costs.
  • Assist with building and implementing equipment strategies for instrumentation and other critical instrument systems.
  • Follow and participate in plant safety initiatives and policies.
  • Preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Required to off-hours calls for plant support.

Qualifications

Education:  Licensed electrician or equivalent industry experience required

 

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years Industry experience in the field of Electrical and Instrument repair

 

Ability & Knowledge:  Experience and knowledge of current instrument technology.
